Whereas, Death has again visited our Lodge and removed from our midst our beloved brother, J.A.L. McCoulloch, who has long been our chief instructor in all the virtues of our order, a good man, consistent Christian, and a man of unimpeachable integrity. Therefore, be it Resolved 1st, That in the death of our beloved brother, our lodge has suffered the loss of one of her oldest and most honored members, and while we mourn his loss, we mourn not as those who have no hope.
Res. 2nd, That we, his brethren of Cane Hill Lodge, hereby tender our heartfelt sympathy to his bereaved family and friends in this the greatest affliction that can be their lot to suffer. Res., 3rd, That we, his brethren of Cane Hill Lodge, wear our badge of mourning for 30 days as a token of our sorrow and bereavement, and that a copy of these resolutions be forwarded to his family and to the papers of our county and that a memorial page be set apart to his memory in our book of records. McCulloch, an old and highly respected citizen of Cane Hill township, died on Monday the 25th instant. He was stricken down with paralysis Sunday was a week ago, but he appeared to improve until Wednesday when it was discovered that his strength was failing. He wa a prominent Mason, a steadfast and devoted member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church and was a leading citizen in his community. His death is a sad loss and will be sincerely mourned by hosts of friends throughout the county,
