My condolences for the family. Dr. Joe B. taught me more about life and how to sell pharmaceuticals than 30 years of training ever did. I loved "calling" on Dr. Hall because I new that he was going to teach me something. He was a man and Doctor to be emulated in all aspects.

Dr. Hall was one of the kindest dr. I ever worked with. He was a gentleman and I don't ever know of him ever loosing his temper at any one. at least not at me if he did. He took care of my late husband John and at times he would call me at night 1030 pm or so and ask me if he had ever tried a certain med on him before . He was always happy and he took as good of care of his patients as he could. God was working in his lift always you could just tell. I know he has left a great big empty place here however God and the angels are rejoicing. My prayers are with each one of you. God bless all. Ginny Stamps

I will always treasure the precious memories of Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic activities--whether it was riding horses on the farm, eating Christmas goodies, etc. Dr. Hall was also my special doctor and helped me during encephalitis and several broken bones following an accident. I remember he even came to the house and wrapped me in a blanket to take me to the hospital. He is and was wonderful. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I met Dr. Hall when I was a new, but not so young, RN at WRMC. I was immediately struck by his empathy and genuine compassion----often not displayed in the medical field. Many years of caring had not reduced his passion for the truth and excellence. His famiy's pride in him is well-placed---he was a noble and singular person. I have spoken of him often in the years since and will never forget his open, quick wit and thorough patient care. Truly, one in a million.
Josey Humbert-Sabo - Nurse
I was always impressed with how passionate Dr. Joe was with the Dr. museum. His stress on the values of commitment, & integrity always touched me also. I worked with him from the high school and was always unhappy that we could not incorporate the museum more in the science classes.
Teresa Gregory - Teacher At Lhs,

it is with great sadness that we have to say so long for now to a person as unique as Dr. Joe B Hall... there are truly no words that can relay what this community has lost and what we mourn as we say goodbye to one of the most awesome, friendly, kind and all around great doctor. To his family we say we share your sadness but we in no way can feel your pain. There is a song I refer to alot Called Celebrate My Life and it truly fits Dr. Joe.... So Celebrate my Life, celebrate the years, celebrate our families and wipe each others tears. This is just an awesome song and I encourage you all to listen to it and I hope it will give you the peace it gives me when I think of the love ones I have lost. God Bless you all .... and please enjoy the song Celebrate My Lilfe.... http://www.myspace.com/shirleymurdockministries/music/albums/home-11553418

I'm very saddened by the passing of Dr. Hall. I'm only here today because of Dr. Hall. I was eleven years old when I was finally taken to Dr. Hall, because everybody else had given up on what my illness was. Dr. Hall finally diagnose me with rheumatic fever that nearly cost me my life. I remained Dr. Hall's patient until he retired. Thank you so much Dr. Hall.

I consider it to have been a privilege to have known Dr. Hall. As a nurse at Washington Regional, he quickly became my role model for what a doctor should be; a teacher, a healer, a spiritual advisor, and a lover of baudy humor! I will always have fond memories of his weekend rounds in overalls and muddy boots! He was one of the good guys.

I feel blessed to have been able to work with Dr. Joe at the museum for three years. I will treasure the times when it was just him and I at the ACDM and the stories he told me or just long talks about everyting. I will treasure the hugs from Dr. Joe and the sweet things he would do or say to make my day. I will never forget the passion he had for the museum and the old country doctor. He said that the country doctor had three traits: integrity, committment, and compassion. I believe he epitomized those traits. I never tired of listening about Peggy or hear him read out of her poetry book. NWA was surely made a better place with the life of Dr. Joe. He will forever hold a special place in my heart. To the family I wish to thank you for sharing your Daddy Joe. My prayers are with you all and God Bless You.

September 9, 2010 To the Family of Joe B. Hall: In May of 1985 I came down with an unusually high fever. The ‘new kids on the block’ who had just bought the Eureka Clinic from Dr. Bob Etherington were Dr. Greg Kresse, and his partner, Dr. Dan Bell. When the fever didn’t go away, I went to see Dr. Kresse and he put me in the hospital here, but could not make a diagnosis. I know, in reason, he got scared and didn’t want to lose the town banker right after he had moved to our community, so he sent me over to Washington Regional Medical Center and his mentor, Dr. Joe B. Hall. Dr. Hall put me through a series of tests, but could not come up with a diagnosis, but what I had was eating up my white blood cells, and I was dying (he told me this later). Finally, he put something into my veins that started turning me around, and even though he still didn’t know what I had, he sent my blood all over the country to different labs, and they could only rule out Tularemia, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lyme Disease, etc. It was suspected it was a tick-born virus, but nobody could identify same. After a week at Washington Regional, Dr. Hall sent me home with a prescription, and my druggist said the pills were the strongest that could be prescribed to a human being without being fatal. They now have a name for this disease, --- its called Ehrlichiosis, and it’s fatal if not treated. The point of all the above is that Dr. Hall saved my life, for which I will always be grateful. In 55 years at this bank, I have never missed work but those five days in Washington Regional Hospital. I remember him telling me, after I had asked him a question and was getting well, about how could I conduct our bank’s affairs on the telephone with 104 degree temperature, as I was calling the bank every day and running things from my bed? He said, “That’s how these viruses are. One minute you’re talking on the telephone, and the next minute you’re dead.” From what I have read in the Democrat/Gazette the past few days, Dr. Hall had a long, interesting and fulfilling life, and I would suggest that even though there will be a few tears, that you do like we did with my 99-½ year old mother when she passed away last year, and that is, CELEBRATE!!! Do not mourn, but celebrate his life! “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal—life leaves a memory no one can steal” “Do not stand by my grave and cry—I am not there, I did not die.” John F. Cross, Chairman Cornerstone Bank Eureka Springs, Arkansas

What a shock. At a funeral this am I was told of Dr. Hall's death by Gary Nutter who was in his Sunday school class. Gary is now an attorney here in Texarkana. The thing I remember most about Dr. Hall was was his hand that would suddenly appear from the doorway leading from the TV room to the sunporch and his hollering "anybody home". Then the laugh which I will never forget. What a sense of humor. Then there were those "inbetween" notes when he tried to sing. But most of all I remember the testimony he displayed as he extended grace and understanding to those around him. He was always giving. He gave me my first doctor's bag when I graduated from medical school. He was a strong influence in my life, and I will never forget him. My deepest condolences go to his family.
