Obituary

Donald Lee Burnett, age 83, of Farmington, Arkansas, passed from this earth peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 27, 1941, in Japton, Arkansas, he was the cherished son of Samuel F. and Ella Julie (Drake) Burnett.

A devoted lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Farmington, Donald served faithfully as a deacon and Adult Sunday School teacher. His commitment to his faith was evident through his active involvement in vacation Bible school and various children and youth programs. Despite the challenges he faced following an accident that left him paralyzed, Donald's unwavering faith in Christ was a testament to his strength and resilience.

Donald dedicated 36 years of service to the Campbell Soup Company in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he worked diligently on the maintenance team until his retirement in 1996. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting, fishing, gardening, and landscaping.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, affectionately known as "Poppa Don" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his son Thomas Burnett, and his brothers Jerry and Roy Burnett.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Burnett; his son Timothy Burnett and wife Andrea of West Fork, Arkansas; his daughter Rebecca Roach and husband Max of Farmington, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
