Obituary
David Hugh Walker
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Hugh Walker, age 44, on March 20, 2025. Dave was born on April 29, 1980, and was a beloved son, brother, father, husband, uncle and friend. His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew him.
Dave was a talented guitarist with a deep passion for music. His love for the art was reflected not only in his musical capabilities but also in his innate knack to connect with others through the power of song. If you got a random song lyric text from him, you knew you were loved.
A man of quick wit and boundless humor, Dave was always eager to make those around him laugh. His upper tier dialogue and meme game were strong.
Dave possessed a sharp intelligence that allowed him to approach life’s challenges with a unique perspective, earning the admiration of those close to him. Dave loved history and the sciences and was forever adding knowledge to his internal database.
His love for animals, especially cats, was undeniable. He found comfort and companionship in their presence and showed great care and affection for all creatures. He dreamed of his own Catopia, a cat sanctuary.
David’s family was his heart. He is survived by his parents, Hugh and Paula Walker; his brother, Wally Walker (Carla); his sister, Crystal Brasuell (Daniel) and his nephew and niece, Mark and Layla; his son, Josef Walker; his wife, Amy D. McVey and his stepchildren, Alexis Hardin, Ramsey McVey and Cashe McVey. Dave had three grandsons.
His legacy lives on in the memories so deeply cherished by those closest to him.
A private memorial service will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave’s name to a local animal shelter. Now, Dave is tending to the kitties here and above. Rainbow Bridge has a new caretaker.
Dave’s spirit will forever be remembered, and his love will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those who knew him.
"Dave's not here, Man."
