Obituary
Chester Stanley Powlowski was born in Plains, Pennsylvania on July 15, 1926. He is preceded in death by his parents - Katherine and Stephan Powlowski, four sisters- Helen, Mary, Stella and Frances and two brothers- John and Joseph.
Chet is survived by his beloved wife of seventy-three years, Imogene Hulet Powlowski, and his daughter Catherine Durham, daughter Krista Nicholas and son-in-law David Nicholas and daughter Linda Castaneda and son-in-law Max Castaneda and his son David Powlowski.
He is also survived by his grandchildren - Jennifer Walker and her fiancé Jason Roach, Adrienne Lynch, Mark Lynch, Ashley Brockington and her husband Alan Brockington, Michael Nicholas, Christopher Nicholas, Max Christian Castaneda, Elia Castaneda, Abigail Powlowski,, Madison Powlowski and her husband Ben Nelson and his great grandchildren - Alexandra Corrin Walker her fiancé Tye Cooney, Josie Kay Walker, Madison Paige Roach, Maddox Lynch, Judah Lynch, Hadley Lynch, Ambrose Brockington, Asa Brockington and Harper Nicholas.
Chester “Chet” Powlowski enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 18, 1944 and was assigned to the 43rd Infantry Division in World War II, serving in the Philippine Islands and Japan and received the Army of Occupation WWII Victory Medal, Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman Badge. Chet re-enlisted in the Army in 1947 and was assigned duty in the Second Armored Division 124th Armed Ordinance in Germany and earned the rank of Sergeant First Class before serving in the Korean War. In the Korean War, he served under the First Cavalry Division 61st Field Artillery Battalion. He received the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal. Chet ended his military career in the 5th Armored Division 71st Armored Field Artillery Unit at Fort Chaffee, as a Master Sergeant.
After his military service, Chet and Imogene bought a dairy farm in Clyde, Arkansas. Chet enjoyed farming and had a great love for the outdoors and animals, but his true passion was golf. He attended the Professional Golf Association School and became a certified PGA Professional. Chet was instrumental in building the Siloam Springs City Golf Course. He also managed the Carroll County Country Club in Berryville, Arkansas and later the Ouachita Country Club in Mena, Arkansas. Chet shared his love of golf by teaching others to play. He especially enjoyed teaching his son and daughters to play golf. In his retirement years, Chet and his son, David, shared a love for fishing. Chet’s immense love for his wife Imogene, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as his faith and love for God brought him much joy. Chet leaves behind a rich legacy and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 11th, 2025, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Wedington Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
