Verna Lou Rodgers Snodgrass
January 15, 1929 – August 31, 2020

Verna Lou Rodgers Snodgrass of Lincoln, Arkansas was born in her grandmother’s home in Abernathy, Texas on January 15, 1929 and she died in her sleep at age 91 in Fayetteville, Arkansas on August 31, 2020. She was the daughter of Loyd Ray Rodgers and Opal Mae Daniel Rodgers of Lincoln, Arkansas and was married for 55 years to Homer L. Snodgrass, Jr, also of Lincoln. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and her grandson, Christopher L. Snodgrass. She is survived by her son Larry and his wife Patti of Lincoln, grandchildren Chad Robert Snodgrass of Fayetteville, Julie Kaye Snodgrass of Rogers and Roy Leonard Stewart and his wife Lisa of Farmington and great grandchildren Fiona Stewart and Duncan Stewart of Farmington.
Verna grew up in Lincoln and was a valued member of the Presbyterian Church of Lincoln where she served as a member of the choir, as an Elder of the Church and as Church Treasurer. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron. Verna was also active in her community and served on the Apple Festival Committee. Her father’s family was involved in the local apple farming community with Rodgers Orchards in Lincoln for many years. She and her husband, Homer, lived for a time after WWII in Norwalk, California prior to returning to Lincoln and purchasing Summers Butane, a local LP Gas business in 1958, which they operated for 38 years until retiring in 1996. She was the keeper of family memories and traditions and will be sorely missed.
Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the Lincoln Presbyterian Church, PO Box 968, Lincoln, Arkansas 72744. The family will have a private memorial service to honor her memory at a later date.
