Obituary

Maxine Sellers Kelley, 92, a resident of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at her residence on Pulaski Highway.

Born January 14, 1925 in Qualls, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Marion Sellers and the late Lura Wade Sellers. On February 27, 1943, she married John Kelley who preceded her in death September 2, 1966. They lived in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, where they owned and operated Kelley Canning Company for several years and some other businesses. Maxine moved to Tennessee in 1986 to be near her daughter Joyce and was a member of Stiversville Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Vernon) Inman of Culleoka; son, Carl Don (Debra) Kelley of Springdale, Arkansas; brother, Marion Sellers, Jr. of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kendra Sue Smith; Jason Kelley; Jonathan (Melody) Kelley; April Kelley; and Vernon (Two) Inman, II; six great grandchildren; and eight nieces and sixteen nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John Kelley, Jr.; granddaughter, Kelley Jo Inman; brother, George Sellers; sisters, Alice Fallen; Leola Washington; and Christine Conrad.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 a.m at Luginbuel Chapel with funeral service at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery, there will be no graveside service held.

My mom, Elsie Fitts, worked for John Kelley at the canning factory. John Jr., Joyce, and Carl hung out with my siblings and loved mom's cooking. I was told Joyce bought baby clothes for me when I was born.
