Tributes

Barbara, Bill, Jim and families, My heart goes out to you in your loss. Maria was a beautiful woman and a kind, warm, gentle, giving soul. I remember being just amazed when my mother told me about her ordeal during the war years. Despite the early pain and hardship she endured, she grew into a loving and kind person. I will miss her. It does put a smile on my face thinking of her reuniting with all the family members and friends who passed before her. ( maybe at "Iggy's" in the sky? ) And how heart warming to picture her with Stanley again. May you be comforted and find peace in all of your beautiful memories of her. Our love to you all. booshee, booshee, Karen and Frank

I am so very sorry to hear about Mary. My heart goes out to the Sobotowicz family. I know how difficult it is to lose both parents in such a short time. I will keep all of you and Mary in my thoughts and prayers. Mary was such a loving mother and devoted wife. She accomplished a lot during her lifetime, but I feel at the end, she wanted to be with Stanley. They are together now eternally and are at peace. Mary will continue to live on through our special memories of her until we will all be together again.
Linda Webb - Former Daughter-In-Law
To all the Sobotowicz family, our deepest sympathy to you. This is so difficult coming on the heels of Stanley's passing, but Bill tells us she missed so much being with her beloved husband and friend. Mary was such an incredible, loving, and beautiful person. We count ourselves lucky to have known her. Love, John and Mary

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sorrowful time. I know how hard it is to lose both parents.Maria was an inspiration to us all. As a young girl Gramma Paczkowski would always have Maria sew my Christmas dress or suite. I used to look forward to that every year. Maria was so giving of herself to her family and everyone around her. I am happy she is with Stanley now. They both were loving examples to us all.
Maryan Picolo - Niece And Cousin
My deepest sympathy to the Sobotowicz family. Losing a parent is so very difficult and losing both parents in such a short span of time compounds the loss. I remember Mary as a kind and wonderful person when I would come over for my drum lessons from Jim. Many blessings to you all during your time of grief. Pam

I remember both Maria and Stanley well. Especially Maria. I recall the night she arrived in Chicago from Europe and many years thereafter. Their wedding was super and my sister Lillian was one of the attendants. I still have a file of the bride and hope that I'll be able to give it to you.

Our thoughts are with Jim and his family during this time. Jim's mom was a very sweet person and we enjoyed spending time with her and Stanley both in Kenosha and LA. They made a great couple and will be missed.

Jim and family, We are so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. We were moved to tears watching your Mother's video tribute. It showed what a wonderfully loving family you shared. We've all lost parents and understand how difficult this time can be. We will keep you in our prayers. Love, Mary Hawkins, Jackie Strecker, Carol Neu and Karen Socha

When I think of Mary, I think of tables, countertops, every flat surface in the kitchen and dining room covered with trays of scrumpious baked goods for the holidays. And of homemade pierogis and other delicious dishes piled high, with second helpings a must. Mary was a mother-provider in all the best sense of the term. She dedicated her life to her family and I was so fortunate to share in her bounty in my constant trips to the Sobotowicz home. Stan & Mary were like second parents to me growing up, and they always treated me that way. For that, and all the great memories they helped create, I will always be thankful. Although my heartfelt condolences go out to Bill, Jim, Barb and their families, I know Mary is now happy to be back with Stan, looking after the family she so loved.

Bill, Jim, Barb, and Families: Mom & Dad have fond memories of meeting Mary & Stan each week in the supermarket and sharing stories about the "kids", and they wish to express their sympathy to each of you. In remembering Mary and Stan I cannot think of any couple who more deserved to be in each others company. They made living and sharing look so easy, natural, and hopeful--a gift, no doubt, passed along to you. My sincere regards.
