Tributes

So sorry for your loss! I'm so glad I got to see y'all and have a good visit with Mar on my recent trip there. Mar was a good mother in law and I will miss her!

Marilee was a joy to be around for me. When I was just a kid, she treated me as if I had value as a person, not just a dumb kid. I never forgot that. My favorite thing to do when I passed through Prairie Grove, was to stop in at the Antique Emporium to visit her. She brightened my day every time. I feel incredibly lucky to have known her. I hope Cathy and Cindy will accept my deepest condolences. I loved your Mom.

Auntie Lee was my favorite aunt and at times filled in as my mom. She was a wealth of family stories regarding my paternal grandparents, Neb and Rhoda. In 2012 I had the pleasure and pure fun of a road trip from Prairie Grove to Lincoln, NE for a family event during which she told me many stories, with great humor, of my great-grandparents that I had never heard ! With wonderful sensibility, humor, intelligence and love, my aunt was and is one of the best people and humans I have ever had the privilege to be around. I will miss her terribly! Having said that, I know that the next part of her journey will be glorious for her as she was always 'game'!
Becky Nebelsick - niece
I have not seen Marilee for a very long time. She was a dear friend of my parents, Bud & Bobbie Wilson, and I knew her growing up. She actually grew up with my parents in Lincoln Nebraska. She and Bob and Jack and Ann were all great friends of theirs. I was always in awe of her. I loved her immediately upon meeting her. She had an aura about her that drew you in. I was aware of that as a kid observing her when she would come to visit or we would visit her and Bob. She had a special spirit that made you feel, no matter what, everything was going to be okay. I just loved being around her. She was kind, funny, smart and always made you feel special. I wish I had stayed in touch. The world was a better place with Marilee in it. Now the heavens have the great gift of her.

Marilee will continue to be an example of "Let Life". She always made everyone feel comfortable around her. Her calm, layed-back personality made her a securing presence. May her sweet character help her precious family through this difficult time.

I streamed the service and was so grateful to be with you - in spirit. I loved Marilee. She was an independent, wise, intelligent, compassionate woman with a quick wit and infectious sense of humor. That laugh never failed to take me out. It seemed to come from the pit of her stomach and resonated through the room. I have such wonderful memories of visiting your families, both as a child and an adult. Marilee was so welcoming, all-inclusive and gave me a sense of belonging that went well past blood and DNA. I've heard that the measure of a person isn't how much they love, but how much they are loved. Marilee was a giant. p.s. I loved watched Tom, Kathy, and Cindy wave into the camera after the service - probably talking to Sue. I waved back. Hope you could feel the love that I sent your way.
Wendy Wilson Geiger - childhood friend
Precious precious lady. She will be missed dearly and I always enjoyed catching up when she would ship Christmas packages. ((Hugs)) to her family.
