I met Marie in 1979 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Marie was bedazzling. She was very smart, beautiful and friendly. Her extroverted personality and attention to detail helped her to be an excellent student. Marie became a great friend. We shared several classes and had a wonderful time together. We did many projects. These included making movies and the Arkansas 1980 gubernatorial election coverage in Little Rock among others. Marie wanted to help make the world a better place. I feel honored to have been in her life if only for a short while. To the world she was one person, but to me she was my world then. It was a long time ago, but only if you measure time in years. In many ways, Elton John could have written "Candle In The Wind" for Marie. My sister Meg also sends her condolences. Marie you were loved.

Marie always had interesting stories about herself and people she helped. She had a BIG heart, trying to help others. Marie was very proud of her sons, you could tell when she gave me updates of the joy her sons gave her. My prayers go out to her family and friends in their loss.

Marie was such a good, gentle soul possessed of a servant's heart. She was always willing to help another. She volunteered at the Kite Festival and always had such a good time. She was at the Tree Lighting and I have never seen her happier. I felt the dark times of her life were finally behind her and she had found peace in her life.

I will never forget Marie's singing. She used to sing the Star Bangled Banner at the high school football games. The note that is so hard to hit - she hit an octave above. I will keep her family in my prayers.
