Lonnie Eugene Blakemore

Age 78, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born October 23, 1939 in Prairie Grove, the son of Ralph Coleman and Sylvia Bell (Phillips) Blakemore.

Lonnie had been inducted into the Arkansas State Trapshooting Hall of Fame, a five time Arkansas State Champion of Trapshooting, and was a lifetime member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was Baptized at the Hog Eye Community Church and attended Prairie Oaks Baptist Church.

Lonnie served in the United States Army National Guard from 1959-1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Bessie Mae Bryan.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Barbara Jean Pense Blakemore; one son Jerry Blakemore and wife Tina of Prairie Grove; one daughter Kayla Kelly of Bella Vista; one brother Larry Blakemore and wife Gloria of Prairie Grove; six grandchildren Lucas Blakemore, Brooklyn Austen, Chelsea Page, Catlin Owens, Stephanie Blakemore and Blakemore Owens; twelve great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, October 15th, 2018, at Prairie Oaks Baptist Church in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Illinois Chapel Cemetery, there will be no graveside services held. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Chapel Cemetery 12075 Ten High Gun Club Rd. Throughout the years, Lonnie was a visitor in the Feltner home more than anyone else I can think of. I was almost grown before I realized he wasn't a member of our family. He was such a treasured friend to both my daddy and mother. I remember Sylvie always referring to him as that little Lonnie.
