Obituary

Larry Wayne Statham

Age 83, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at his home. He was born April 4, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Joe Frank "Bill" and Mildred "Tooter" (Joyce) Statham.

Larry graduated from Spiro High School in 1956. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1956-1976. He was a Department of Defense Supervisory Management Analyst (GS-15) in Norfolk, Virginia for 6 years. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association for 47 years, the American Legion Post 226 in Coweta, Oklahoma for 20 years and a proud member of Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He had served as Fire Chief for the Wedington Fire Department for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years Sandra M. Statham; four daughters Cynthia Statham Potter of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Linda Statham also of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Donna Statham Shepherd and her husband Steve of Norfolk, Virginia, and Tracy Avignone Tice and her husband Jason of Farmington, Arkansas; two sisters Betsy Statham Criswell of Muldrow, Oklahoma and Joyce Statham Bridges of Spiro, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren Brandon Beavers and his wife Aiden, Alan Potter and his wife Michele, Tyler Potter Sakis, Casey Potter and his wife Gina, Kyle Shepherd, Ty Tice and his wife Katelyn and Cole Tice plus six great grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 14, 2021, 5:30-7:30 PM at Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 15th, 2021, at Church of the Nazarene in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The service will also be streamed on the church's Facebook page. Burial will be in the Spiro City Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highland Oncology Group in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
