Karen Elaine Matthews
Age 79, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home. She was born April 23, 1942 in Vinita, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lawrence Stone and Vera (Crow) Provence.
One of Karen's greatest accomplishments was raising her four children who watched and learned from her amazing work ethic. All of her children became business owners and made her very proud. Karen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as they came along. Her past times were traveling, being with her family and going to the casinos. She will be missed by many. We will all miss the long conversations with her that always included lots of laughter, her vivid and animated expressions, great advice and most importantly how she always made us feel loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son John Matthews, two brothers Phil Provence and Stanley Provence.
Survivors include three daughters Kenna Hill of Prairie Grove, Cheryl Matthews of Greenwood, South Carolina, Sharon Matthews of Elgin, South Carolina; two sisters Janis Wilson of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Pat Benham of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two brothers Keith Provence of Oklahoma, and Richie Provence of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will have a gathering for celebrating Karen's Life on June 5, 2021- 11:30 a.m. at Mosaic Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
