I first met Joe nearly 13 years ago at the Optical Lab. As was Joe's way we became friends fast. He was a someone that I had great respect and admiration for. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. My sincere condolences to his Family and to Vada. He goes on from this world to the next with much love. My thoughts are with you all at this time of sorrow. Deb Sullivan.

" Ole bear" that's what I called him. He was gruff but purred like a kitten. He knew I loved the ole bear! I met Joe when I started at the lab and we hit it off immediately when I asked him why he was blue. He always had a way about him that you couldn't help but like him. I greatly admired the " ole bear" and will miss him immensely!! Love you you Joe!!

This man saw that I was in a very dark place in my life, back in 2004 living on a friends couch, and he told me to keep my chin up and shine. He said people go on and do great things after a divorce. I will never forget Joe for lifting me up. RIP good buddy till we meet again.

I worked for and with joe at the optical lab. Joe was always honest and upfront . A great man to be around . He was the type of man other looked up to and tried to be like. He had the ability to make friends with anyone and he commanded the respect of the room . You would be hard pressed to find someone who knew joe and didn’t love him and admire him as both a person and a leader . Fly high buddy .

Papa Smurf is what I called Joe. He was a truly great guy. Never knew a stranger and always had a smile. He was always giving advice and worth listening too. If you were down, he could lift your spirits. My heart goes out to his sweet lady Vada. We will miss you Papa Smurf! RIP
