Tributes

Joe was very patient and kind to us when we were trying to get our house built and move out of his house. I will miss his smile and sense of humor. Everyone at the Bank looked forward to his visit. My wife’s commitment when learning of his death was “he was a nice man.”

Joe and I grew up together and went into the service together. We were so sorry to hear of his passing. We are thinking of his family during this difficult time.
Jim and Debbie Shofner - Life long friend
Oh Joe, it is so hard to believe you are gone. I am going to miss our silly antics at Church Potlucks and our "Beans and Cornbread" during Grace and Peace. You were a bright light and your absence will be greatly felt. Rest in Peace, sweet Joe.

Joe, I can’t believe you are gone. How we will miss you at church. I loved when you would tell me about going to school with my brother Gary Gibney and my cousins Jimmy and Dale Gibney. We will miss our silly exchanges at church, the “beans and cornbread “, you would say instead of the proper Grace and Peace. You were loved beyond belief by so many, people. Rest In Peace, Joe.
Cheryl Gibney Schuman - Friend and fellow church member
Joe was a great citizen of Prairie Grove. I served with Joe for many years on the planning commission and he always had PG's best interest at heart. Joe was a great friend and I always enjoyed visiting with him.
Dale Reed - Friend
I met Joe through the City Planning Commission when I first started working at the City of Prairie Grove. He was an excellent citizen and an outstanding friend. Joe was a kind and funny fellow with a great sense of humor. When he found out my Mama read Louis L'Amour westerns he started bringing me bags of books to pass on to her. I loved Joe and my mama loved Joe through me.
Jackie Baker - Friend
Joe served on the Police Committee for many years and helped to interview/hire some of our great officers. We are thankful for his friendship to the Prairie Grove Police Department. ~Captain
