Obituary

Jessie Keith Guthrie of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, September 10,2020, at the age of 94. After several weeks of declining health, Jessie died peacefully with family by his side.
Jessie was born in Hindsville, Arkansas on July 30, 1926, the son of Jessie Elbert and Violet Jewel (Alderson) Guthrie. Jessie and his siblings grew up on the family's 180 acres where they produced timber and garden vegetables. Eventually settling as a young adult in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
On August 29th, 1980 he married Martha Elaine Terry in Jay Oklahoma. Jessie was a dedicated employee of Tyson Foods and retired after a 40-year career in the Live Haul division. Needless to say, Jessie could drive and park a big rig anywhere. An avid fisherman, hunter and all-around outdoorsman. His favorite people to go with called him Pa. He was very proud of his grandchildren’s accomplishments both in the classroom and extracurricular activities, including countless football games in the freezing cold weather, rodeo events, and even a few dance recitals. Many memories were made among their different activities.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, beloved wife Martha, One son Bill Guthrie of Claremore Oklahoma, two grandsons Richard Upshaw of Rogers; Rudyard Upshaw; one step grandson Clinton Bailey of Farmington and one step granddaughter Tara Wilson of Elkins; six siblings Earl, Ernest, Gertrude, Maxine, Ollie and Delphie.
Survivors include two daughters Robbie Upton and Debra Guthrie both of Springdale Arkansas; Three stepsons Danny Greek, Russell Greek and Randy Greek and wife Barbara; two step daughters Debbie Keeling and her husband Robert, and Beverly Robbins both of Lincoln Arkansas; one brother Johnny Guthrie and wife Nona of Dryden, Washington.
Four grandchildren Rudy Upshaw, Missa Wagoner, Lynn Guthrie and Tony Guthrie; and eleven step grandchildren Jessica Greek, Billy Greek, Christina Reandeau, Rhonda Hayes, Toni Griffith, Jason Wilson, Mindy Singleton, Whitney Keeling, Brooklyn Keeling, Chloe Keeling and Dillon Foshe; and numerous great grandchildren.

Tributes

We are so sadden for your loss. Keith was a very loved man and I will be forever grateful that as hard as it was for him, he wanted to drive out west to see his sister (Delphia) in her last days. We loved him also and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
