James Edward Trumbull

Age 77, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at his home. He was born January 9, 1943 in Ridgeway, Pennsylvania, the son of Alton E and Hazel Dorcus (Young) Trumbull.


Jim bowled for many years in Fayettevile on the men's team on Wednesday nights and on a senior team in his sixties. He loved baseball and played until he was 50, he played on men's teams and on VA teams. He loved to hunt and fish.

Jim had been to all 50 states. He was an Air Force brad, he grew up in the US and Germany. Jim joined the army when he was 17, he was in Korea for a year where he served in a M.A.S.H unit as an orderly. He came back to Dallas, Texas and worked at the VA Hospital, he transferred to Fayetteville, Arkansas. He became an LPN and later went on to graduate from the U of A Nursing School with an associates degree in nursing. He worked 33 years for the VA. Hospital. His first love in nursing was the operating room, towards the end of this career he was the OR director of the Tahlequah hospital for 5 years and worked at the Indian Health Services.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Carolyn.

Survivors include his wife Virginia Louise Trumbull; six children Andrea Lynn Saldana and her husband Fransisco, Jessica Sue Meek, Robert Wayne Branch and his wife Michelle, Travis Dale Branch and his wife Shawnda, Kimberleigh A. Hartfield and her husband Brandon, James Erroll Trumbull; six sisters; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

At James request there will be no services held.

We are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. So many fond memories of the kids growing up together and helping each other out on house remodels. Wonderful man. Will cherish the memories forever.
