Obituary

Harvey VanLaningham, 85, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at his home. He was born September 2, 1932 in Homesville, Nebraska, the son of Art and Ada (Whitehead) VanLanningham.

He married Kay (Walker) Vanlaningham on December 6, 1968 in Fairbury Nebraska. He served in the Korean War and was a member of the Eagles Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents Art and Ada (Whitehead) VanLanningham, step son Scott Hanke, and three brothers Leonard VanLaningham and wife Dorothy, Harold VanLaningham and wife Betty, Fred VanLaningham and one brother in law Harold Arntt.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Vanlaningham of Lincoln, Arkansas; three children Debra Shotsman of Lincoln, Nebraska, Rod VanLaningham and wife Sherri of Beatrice, Nebraska and Sue Ivy of Beatrice, Nebraska; eight grandchildren Kimberly Payne and husband Bryant of Lincoln Nebraska, Jessica Berry of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jared VanLaningham and wife Amanda of Hickman, Nebraska, Kylee Eickmeier of Beatrice, Nebraska, Alyssa VanLaningham of Beatrice, Nebraska, Shannon Schidler and husband Sean of Beatrice, Nebraska, Rhory Ivy of Kansas, Chelsea Retchless of Beatrice, Nebraska; thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters Melvadine Arntt of Beatrice, Nebraska, Donna Huls and husband Larry of Beatrice, Nebraska, Linda Siems and husband Wayne of Peculiar, Missouri; two brothers Lloyd VanLaningham and wife Carolina of Beatrice Nebraska and Ronald VanLaningham and wife Nancy of Florence, Montana; one sister-in-law Eileen VanLaningham of Clatoinia, Nebraska.
