Glendon Dwight Faulkner

77 of Prairie Grove, AR entered Heaven’s gates on January 1, 2021. Glen was born in Roxton, AR (Cobb Creek) on May 29, 1943. He retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department with 30 plus years of service having worked as a surveyor, inspector and maintenance supervisor. He served six years in the United States Army Reserves and was honorably discharged as staff sergeant E-6. He also worked with two northwest Arkansas engineering firms. He was a licensed realtor and an ordained Free Will Baptist minister who had preached over 4200 sermons, conducted over 600 funerals and performed over 350 weddings.

Glen served as pastor of the New Sulphur Free Will Baptist church in Prairie Grove for 26.5 years, the Huntsville Free Will Baptist church for two years and the Harmony Baptist church in Huntsville for eight years. He was a contract chaplain at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville for ten years and a chaplain with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department for two years. He was chosen from the state of Arkansas to make the pilgrimage to the Holy Land along with forty-seven other ministers by the Knights Templar in 1996 and later personally led three other groups to the area. He served as an evangelist for several years preaching revivals and performing concerts first with the Faulkner Family, which included, among others, his mother Geneva and sister, Betty and for a while, his brother Gary, then later with the Glen Faulkner Singers, which included his son, Stephen.

Glen is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Judy Rhea Howard Faulkner, daughter Angela Faulkner Haws and husband Karl Haws of Springdale, son Stephen Faulkner of Springdale and son Anthony Faulkner of Prairie Grove. Also granddaughters Karli Haws and Kacey Haws of Springdale. He will be missed by his sister Betty Gray and family and brother Gary Faulkner and family.

A private family funeral will be held with Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers will be Stephen Faulkner, Anthony Faulkner, Karl Haws, Ronnie Deese, Stacy Luginbuel and JC Dobbs. Burial will be at the Huntsville Cemetery.

There will be a period of honoring Glen at the Luginbuel Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Glen was a friend and was a neighbor when Angela was born. His family have been Huntsville people all their lives where both Glen and Gary preached. He never knew a stranger nor had an enemy. All who heard Glen and/or his family sing found it so very uplifting. Our community is hurting because of his loss and because of the loss of Rev. Butch Bolinger. CoVid is a hateful, deadly thief.

I am sorry for your loss. I pulled out the songs that I had listened to as a young lady that were sung by Glen and the Faulkner family and shared them with my children. What talent and what a beautiful testimony. A legacy pointing to Jesus as the way and such a shining light has been left for us all. May God bless and comfort you all during this time and always.

A dear friend of mine (Nancy Grant) introduced me to Brothers Glenn. I only had attended 3 of his services and seen him do a few weddings and funerals. The first service I attended, touched me like no other preacher has ever in my life. I felt him speaking directly to me. He knew I was hurting without even knowing me. He spoke so directly to me, tears rolled down my face as he gave me hope. His touch, his voice, his smile and his presence made me feel so close to God. My deepest condolences to the family.
