Obituary

Dorothy Marie Smith

Age 87, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at her home. She was born April 25, 1930 in Webber Falls, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles and Leta Grace (Moore) Sloan.

Dorothy was a member of the Prairie Grove First United Methodist Church and received the Lord as her Savior last summer. She retired from Campbell Soup after 19 years. She was a devoted mother to six children, fifteen grandchildren and thirty six great grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, loved to paint and loved caring for her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Finis James Smith, three brothers Charles Sloan, George Sloan and Donnie Sloan.

Survivors include four sons Kent Walters of West Fork, Phil Smith and wife Chris, Aaron Smith, and Anthony Smith and wife Cristal all of Prairie Grove; two daughters Debbie Fair and husband Anthony of Tulsa and Dawna Nall and husband Johnny of Cane Hill; one sister Lucille Ford of Cane Hill; fifteen grandchildren Marty Jones, Shane Jones, Trinity Vinson, Shawna Lea, Jerome Smith, Lillie Norwood, Joshua Smith, Philisha Shaffer, Aanthony Smith, Jessica Lewis, Aaron Smith, Jacob Smith, Sloan Smith, Sarah Nall and August Nall; thirty six great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 5, 2017 6:00-7:00 PM at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, July 6th, 2017 at New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery, there will be no graveside service.
