David Leon Bartholomew

Age 72, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas after a two and a half month battle with brain cancer. Born on January 22, 1949 at the Mock Clinic in Prairie Grove, AR, he was the son of Harold Ray and Maudileen (Cates) Bartholomew. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

David was a lifelong resident of Prairie Grove, AR.  He graduated from Prairie Grove High School in 1967.  He was married to his high school sweetheart, Linda, for 54 years. Family was very important to him. Their three daughters were his pride and joy, along with their grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and going to all of their activities. David was a hard worker. He grew up on the farm in Hogeye and continued working there after he married, raising cows, chickens and turkeys. He also worked as a rural carrier for the Prairie Grove Post Office and retired after 32 years of service. He loved camping, hunting and fishing with his maternal uncles and later enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Bartholomew, and one daughter, Kara (Bartholomew) McConnell.

Survivors include his wife Linda (Lossing) Bartholomew; two daughters, Bridgette Caples and her husband Devin of Bentonville, Arkansas and Candice Gentry and her husband Greg of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; son-in-law Mike McConnell of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; his mother Maudileen (Cates) Bartholomew of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; two brothers Jerry Bartholomew and Jimmy Bartholomew and his wife Debbie all of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one sister Sue Bartholomew of Farmington, Arkansas; eight grandchildren Claire and Cole Caples, Katharine and Karaline McConnell, Rheis and David Stephens, and Garrett and Camryn Gentry; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, November 6th, 2021, at Prairie Grove Christian Church. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. There will be no graveside service.
