Obituary

Charley C. Edwards, Jr. 86 of Prairie Grove passed away Monday, January 14, 2019. He was born August 5, 1932 to Charles and Elsie Cantrell Edwards, who have preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death, by his wife of 37 years Bobbie Fran Edwards; his wife of 16 years Carole McClellan Edwards; his brother J.D. Edwards of Prairie Grove; brother Billy Edwards of Cedarville and Sister Neva Fears of Alma.

Charley was a Veteran of the Korean War (Army) and was proud of his service for his Country. He worked most of his life for the Federal Government, with 43 years being Postmaster at Canehill, AR.

Charley was most at peace working in his very large gardens over the years, watching his grandsons play sports and hunting and fishing with his grandsons. His favorite things to do were bowling, hunting, watching Nascar races, and any sport on T.V. Charley lived for his three grandsons, he was the greatest “Pops” ever and played a big part in their upbringing.

Charley is survived by his daughter, Kandy and son-in-law, Richard Cooper of Lincoln, AR; three grandsons, Tony Price and wife April Price of Prairie Grove, AR, Clint Price and wife Jennifer Price of Lincoln, AR and Lance Price and wife, Michele Price of Lincoln, AR; nine great-grandchildren, Aaron and Torie Price of Prairie Grove, AR, Kelton Price of Farmington, AR/UCA Conway, Kellar, Korbin and Khloe Price of Lincoln, AR and Paxton, Zander and Bexlee Price of Lincoln, AR; two step-sons, Dallas McClellan and family of Prairie Grove, AR and Shawn McClellan and family of Canehill, AR; step-granddaughter, Lisa Cooper of Farmington, AR; brother, Cliff Edwards and wife, Jean of Prairie Grove, AR, sister, Shirley La Rue and husband Ray of Figure Five, AR, sister Marie Barnes Gooch of Alma, AR; several nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, and friends.

Charley had decided to be cremated and he will be interred in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR. He will be joined by his daughter (Kandy) and son-in-law (Richard, a Navy Veteran) when their days on earth are done.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 18, 2019 - 10:00 a.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home, 115 N. Neal St., Prairie Grove, AR.

So sorry to hear of your loss. When I was a kid I lived two doors down from Mr. Edwards and Bobbie. I remember them always being so nice. Some of my best childhood memories were made at their place with "the Price boys." We played ball and kiss chase and rode scooters and bikes. Good times! Again, my deepest condolences for the family.
