Bonita Elizabeth Petty
Age 80, a resident of Benton, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born May 22, 1938 in Piedmont, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harley and Helen E. (Dickerson) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Pete L. Petty, her parents, her daughter Ronita Yvette Petty, grandson Alexander West, twin sons Peter Lawton Petty II and Paul Lawson Petty, son-in-law Scott Poynor, brother Harley A. Miller, sister-in-law Mary Lou Hewitt and four nephews Clifford Payne, Dewayne Miller, Robert Johnstone, and Brett Miller.
Survivors include her daughter Ruth H. Poynor; grandchildren Karyn Walker (Adam) and Jack Poynor (Autumn); her grandchildren by Ronita: Shelly Thomas (Alex), Will West, and Grace West; her daughter Rebecca E. Stipe (Richard); grandchildren Elisabeth Richerson (Jacob), and Emily Stipe; her son Harley F.D. Petty (Vanessa); grandchildren Victoria Petty, Alexandria Petty, Lawton Petty, Chloe Petty, Owen Cowling, Nathan Cowling and Lily Cowling; eleven great-grandchildren; three siblings Sara A. Brooks, Owen D. Miller, and T. Jack Miller; and one sister-in-law Blanche Johnstone.
Bonita Petty was a life long learner who leaves a legacy example of kindness, devotion, loyalty, and love for all she knew.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 23rd, 2019, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jack Poynor, Will West IV, Lawton Petty, Adam Walker, Alex Thomas and Elijah Thomas.
