Obituary
Betty Jean Henry
Age 85, a resident of Prairie Grove Arkansas, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville Arkansas. She and her twin brother Eugene were born August 20th, 1938 in Strickler Arkansas, the children of James “Jim” and Dora Lee (Carter) Hamilton.
Betty Married Robert “Bob” Henry in 1956 and they had two sons, Robert “Bobby” Henry and William “Bill” Henry. Betty kept a beautiful home while working in a variety of occupations, including hatching and raising chickens, peeling tomatoes at the canning factory, building motors at Universal Electric, and washing dishes at Medi Home.
Her favorite job which she held for 41 years was with the Prairie Grove School District. She worked in the cafeteria and bus barn, driving first, second, and third generation riders to and from school until her retirement in 2015. Her unofficial job was den mother to high school students who crossed Mock Street for quick bites between or instead of classes.
Betty loved visiting, in person as well as on the phone, but her greatest joy was caring for her family. She was instrumental in raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren, particularly her great grandson London Henry with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her home was open to all, and lonely folks were always welcome at her holiday table.
As a child Betty attended the Prairie Grove Church of God, and when she was old she did not depart from it, accepting Jesus as her Savior on November 19th, 2023.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Bob Henry, her sisters Opal and Othalee, and her brothers Merrel and Orville. She is survived by her sons Bobby and Bill, daughter in law DeAnna, brother Eugene Hamilton and sister in law Connie, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers are John Henry, Josh Henry, Braden Henry, London Henry, Randy Beal, Don Copeland, Todd Copeland, and Vincent Leagon.

I worked with Betty at Medi Home and always looked forward to working shifts with her. She was a good, honest person who was always thinking of other people above herself. She was the bus driver for all 5 of my boys and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. I had great comfort in knowing my boys were in good hands. She will always have a special place in my heart
