Wayne McClung
Age 89, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away at Circle of Life at Legacy Village of Bentonville, Arkansas on May 19, 2025. He was born December 28, 1935 in Clovis, New Mexico to Roy Earl and Ethel Lorna McClung.
He retired from the U.S. Army where he served in Counterintelligence. He was service in Germany, France, Korea, and Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star; Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster; Good Conduct Medal (6th Award); Vietnam Service Medal; and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; the American Legion; the Disabled American Veterans; the Masonic Lodge; and the Scottish Rite.
He retired in 1998 from the U.S. Department of Labor where he served as an enforcement officer for Veterans Reemployment Rights.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Viola Marie Nixon; son Michael Wayne and daughter Syndy Lynn; and brother Thomas McClung.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Yates McClung.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7pm on Wednesday, May 21 at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, May 22 at Prairie Grove Cemetery Pavilion.
